History
FAMILY, COMMUNITY, AND THE GREAT OUTDOORS
Lake Linganore is Frederick County’s original resort community. Begun in 1968 by Linganore Corporation (J. William Brosius and Louie J. Brosius), it was the county’s first planned unit development (PUD). The community of villages is centered around a chain of lakes and is nestled outside the charming, historic town of New Market, Maryland.

Our local schools are a great place for kids and a great place for learning. Lake Linganore homeowners are actively involved in helping our students achieve excellence in their education and citizenship. Within our community are Oakdale Elementary School (serving grades PK-5), Deer Crossing Elementary School (serving grades PK-5), Oakdale Middle School (serving grades 6-8), and Oakdale High School (serving grades 9-12).
